Good morning lovely people! It’s a wonderful Wednesday and today we move into the start of a new month.
I figured I’d start off this month by telling you some lovely facts about February!
February is the only month of the year to have less than 30 days, counting at 28 days!
February was the last month added to the calendar in (c. 450 BC).
Of all of these facts, February marks Black History Month as well!
Black history month was first officially recognized in 1976 as part of our nation’s bicentennial celebrations. It is worthy of its title and serves to educate those uneducated about black history, and celebrate the existence of black communities.
Nevertheless, in this month, every person no matter their race, gender, sexuality, etc. shouldn’t be exempt from knowing their worth in this life. We all deserve a chance to make a legacy.
Mental health is one of the biggest struggles occurring everywhere, and while people are increasingly becoming more aware of how to treat it, we are also increasingly being put into situations where depression, anxiety, and suicide seem to be the only option.
As part of Robbie’s Hope, an ambassadorship and non-profit, made to encourage awareness in mental health for teens, and discourage suicide, I hope with all my heart that those who are suffering, lonely, damaged can find love within themselves, and are able to find solace and help in their time of need. I hope that in the future, you all have many amazing Februaries, and are able to share this month with not only a partner, but a loved one, or just yourself. Self love is most important.
And as the end of this post draws near, it comes from a huge part of my heart that I let you all know that no matter who you are, what social class you’re in or your skin color, the sexuality you identify with or the gender you identify with, you deserve love, you deserve happiness, and you deserve life.
I stand with my community, and as always, look forward to more postings.
If you have a personal story, or a story you have consent to share that has something to do with mental health, struggle, or even happiness, advice to those on how to move on with certain hardships or how to cope, please feel free to comment and share them.
